Dreams Are The Beginning First Steps When Traveling the Road to Success
Dr. Martin Luther King's famous speech I Have a Dream is well known by many. Yet, from my experience as an executive coach, many adults have lost the ability to dream. They have become so entangled with the day to day aspects of life, not to mention all the negative conditioning associated with dreaming, that they truly no longer know how to dream. And this is a terrific disadvantage when traveling the road to success.
Dreams are the fodder for our future accomplishments. From the I want to be President to I want to travel the world all began as dreams. Not holding onto those past dreams and not creating new dreams to replace the ones achieved is simply a big mistake.
I was once read a quote attributed to Louis Armstrong who said: Dreams are goals with endings. For the desire to achieve this or that, did start as an intangible thought or what we call a dream.
Take a moment right now to write down at least 5 dreams. Then as you find new dreams or remember old dreams commit those to writing as well. Revisit this list and see how you can turn those dreams into an accomplished goals.
You may need a goal setting process along with a tool to help you achieve those goals. Of course all of these goals should be aligned to your business growth action plan and personal action plan.
So as you are drinking your morning beverage, take some quiet time to begin to start recording your dreams as part of your overall plan to master success
